My brother, Jamey Turner, plays the glass harp. In the spring of 2010 he asked me to write a piece that he could use to play with orchestras. At the time he had a committment to do a concert with the Butler County, PA orchestra in October of that year. Their theme for the year was water. So I went to work and wrote 'The Water Suite' for him to do with them. There was later a second performance of the piece in March of 2011 by the McLean VA Symphony Orchestra with Dingwall Fleary conducting. It is that performance that you can see on the video links above.

The first movement - Spring Creek - is named for the creek which runs through our hometown of Lewistown, Montana. When we were growing up we had many picnics along the banks of Spring Creek (at the fish hatchery a few miles from town.)

The second movement - Summer Rain - merely depicts a rainstorm.

The third movement - The Mighty Colorado - gives tribute to the river which runs through western Colorado, the state where I now live.

Maple Leaf Rag (played as an encore after a concert I did in November of 2011....) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knbsiee5Rac&list=UUNc5elVErdhBIz58mC32SKg&index=1&feature=plcp (You'll be able to see from this that the picture above in the website header was taken a long, long time ago!)

Coming soon - some videos of the Oct. 25, 2015 concert in Boulder CO of music that I have written. There will be a video of a local woodwind trio playing some of the Boulder Rags, a local pianist playing some more Boulder Rags, a flute sextet playing the Aspen Leaf Rag and Fugue,
